Kim Kei is an artist living and working in Los Angeles.
When I first stumbled upon Kim’s work I was immediately drawn to her
strong compositions and muted color palettes. However, upon closer
inspection I had no idea what I was looking at. When looking at her work
you’ll recognize shapes, forms, three-dimensional elements from nature
and sometimes even human figures. Yet even though you think you know
what you’re looking at, it’s never really clear. I love the mystery in
this, and am intrigued by Kim’s process. Kim is fascinated by collecting
small items, and combines these into natural, organic sculptures she
